Nair Laboratory at William & Mary Cancer invasion and metastasis

Praful Nair is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Science at William & Mary. He obtained his PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and did his postdoctoral work at Johns Hopkins University. He is interested in anything cancer or epigenetics. Hence, a key area of investigation is how epigenetic mechanisms regulate cancer progression and metastasis. By identifying the molecular processes that enable cancer cells to spread and adapt to new tissue environments, the ultimate goal of his lab is to identify therapeutic targets and develop better anti-metastatic therapies. To do so, research in the lab combines bioengineering concepts with cancer biology, pre-clinical animal modeling, and bioinformatic analysis.
